Meeting Kate

On June 8th, 2024 Noel Cruz and Emma Cruz had the pleasure of meeting Kate Jackson. Jackson also signed the box of a repainted Sabrina Duncan/Kate and Noel posted the following on Facebook, “Yesterday, my wife and I went to the Hollywood show in Burbank, California and had the great pleasure of meeting with one of the original Charlie’s Angels, Kate Jackson. The highlight of that meeting was her shocked reaction upon seeing the custom repainted doll of her that I created. She signed the inside of the box which read ‘To Noel, You got me! Love, Kate Jackson,’ Her message was in reference to seeing how I was able to fully replicate her likeness with my redo. This was a truly special moment since Kate rarely makes public appearances these days. I’m truly grateful. I feel blessed and privileged as well to be able to share this moment with you all.”

From Wikipedia:

Charlie’s Angels is an American crime drama television series that aired on ABC from September 22, 1976 to June 24, 1981, producing five seasons and 115 episodes. The series was created by Ivan Goff and Ben Roberts and was produced by Aaron Spelling. It follows the crime-fighting adventures of three women working in a private detective agency in Los Angeles, California, and originally starred Kate JacksonFarrah Fawcett (billed as Farrah Fawcett-Majors), and Jaclyn Smith in the leading roles and John Forsythe providing the voice of their boss, the unseen Charlie Townsend, who directed the crime-fighting operations of the “Angels” over a speakerphone.[1] There were a few casting changes: after the departures of Fawcett and Jackson came the additions of Cheryl LaddShelley Hack, and Tanya Roberts.[2]

Despite mixed reviews from critics and a reputation for merely being “Jiggle TV” (specifically emphasizing the sex appeal of the female leads), Charlie’s Angels enjoyed huge popularity with audiences and was a top ten hit in the Nielsen ratings for its first two seasons. By the third season, however, the show had fallen from the top 10. The fourth season of the show saw a further decline in ratings; the changes could not stop the falling ratings and in 1981, Charlie’s Angels came to an end after 110 episodes and five seasons.

Charlie’s Angels continues to have a 1970s American cult and pop culture following through syndicationDVD releases, and subsequent television shows. The show also spawned a media franchise with a film series started in 2000, which is a continuation of the series story with later generations of Angels. A reboot television series was broadcast in 2011, but canceled after seven episodes.
